What a trip.
I've become pretty accustomed to flying in some small planes, but the second leg of my trip to Waco, TX was unreal! I was on a SAAB 340 Turbo, which is just a fancy word for a crop duster. I've also been on these types of planes before...but for some reason this was extra ghetto. The picture may make it look cool--but trust me, it's not! There was some "bad weather" coming from Houston and we were flying right through it. I don't think I can even call what I experienced turbulence, it was more, how can I describe it...death defying? Ha. I seriously almost threw up because my stomach kept dropping. Luckily we landed safely, but god...never again (except when I have to return to Houston TOMORROW! Ahhhhhh).
Once I get to Waco, I find that my hotel is under construction...making it impossible to find! After I loop around "downtown" Waco a couple of times, I pull into the parking lot and manage to guess where the unmarked hotel entrance is. The front desk is resting on covered card tables, with some computers decorating the fabric topped tables. Classy! :-)
It actually isn't that bad at all, I'm just being dramatic. Breakfast was kind of funny though. I asked for coffee and usually they just assume you want cream right? Well, after my waitress didn't bring any over (for my coffee), I ask her for some skim milk. She brings over an entire glass of it. Now, I admit that I wasn't completely clear that I was requesting milk for my coffee...but wouldn't you assume so? I'm not a 9 year old child!
Oh well...I drank some anyways. Ha.
