Long Island City
I've been living in Long Island City for a while now and I haven't ever showed how beautiful it is. There are panoramic views of the city that are to die for...eventually I'll post some night shots as well.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

Addicted to Starbucks?
Apparently if you go to Starbucks once in the morning, you can receive a deep discount on an iced grande drink after 2pm.
They're either desperate (yes), or people are just freaking crazy (double yes).
Seems like good ole' Brit got the memo.....

.::Truly Madly Deeply::.
This song popped up on my Pandora playlist and since I've been rocking out to it for a while...I feel as though I should share it! :-)
I'll be your dream
I'll be your wish
I'll be your fantasy.
I'll be your hope
I'll be your love
Be everything that you need.

Waco, TX
What a trip.
I've become pretty accustomed to flying in some small planes, but the second leg of my trip to Waco, TX was unreal! I was on a SAAB 340 Turbo, which is just a fancy word for a crop duster. I've also been on these types of planes before...but for some reason this was extra ghetto. The picture may make it look cool--but trust me, it's not! There was some "bad weather" coming from Houston and we were flying right through it. I don't think I can even call what I experienced turbulence, it was more, how can I describe it...death defying? Ha. I seriously almost threw up because my stomach kept dropping. Luckily we landed safely, but god...never again (except when I have to return to Houston TOMORROW! Ahhhhhh).
Once I get to Waco, I find that my hotel is under construction...making it impossible to find! After I loop around "downtown" Waco a couple of times, I pull into the parking lot and manage to guess where the unmarked hotel entrance is. The front desk is resting on covered card tables, with some computers decorating the fabric topped tables. Classy! :-)
It actually isn't that bad at all, I'm just being dramatic. Breakfast was kind of funny though. I asked for coffee and usually they just assume you want cream right? Well, after my waitress didn't bring any over (for my coffee), I ask her for some skim milk. She brings over an entire glass of it. Now, I admit that I wasn't completely clear that I was requesting milk for my coffee...but wouldn't you assume so? I'm not a 9 year old child!
Oh well...I drank some anyways. Ha.

GLAAD Media Awards
I attended my first award show ever this week! What an interesting way to spend a Monday night...hehe. The 19th GLAAD Media Awards were held at the Marriott Marquis on March 17th 2008.
Lets see who else was there...Barbara Walters, Caroline Rhea, Alan Cumming, Kevin Bacon, Randy Jackson, Alec Mapa, etc... Now if you know me, I'm not really star studded in anyway, but it was still fun to meet some people and chat with them. Specifically, Alec Mapa and Caroline Rhea were loads of fun to talk to. Alan Cumming on the other hand...was a little out there. Ok, just plain loaded.
I did get some cool goodies though. Here is a picture of some of the things...
As MTV Networks being a corporate sponsor, we had some very snazzy seats for the event! I actually got to sit next to Anthony Rapp throughout the dinner and award ceremony. He's such a nice guy and actually seemed somewhat interested in what we did. We were also one table over from Tim Gunn, which is really cool.

South Bend, IN
Well, there is just too much to talk about. First, you have to realize that I have the strangest job in the world. I go to the most random areas of the country, hang out at gay bars, give out free shit…and get people to sign postcards all night…and I mean all night. I think got to bed around 6am last “night” with the time change and all. Damn daylight savings.
So, this time around I was in South Bend, IN. I didn’t think it was going to be much different than Jackson, MS—oh, but I was wrong. It was much colder and people were just…dumb? I don’t really know how to describe it. There were multiple times that people came up to my table who couldn’t read or write. It was actually kind of sad. I tried to help them out a little…but sometimes it was just too loud to give them the kind of support they needed. Maybe I had lower expectations for the south (aka. Jackson) and I assumed they would fit into the stereotype, but again…I was wrong.
The people in Jackson were actually extremely nice—not that they weren’t in South Bend, but just “average.” It seemed that everyone in Jackson wanted to be my best friend, which is always uplifting.
The hotel I stayed at in South Bend was significantly nicer than Jackson, but it did lack the full kitchen.

Wiener poopie.
This is why YouTube will never cease to amaze me. Make sure to pay special attention, starting at 00:39! HILARIOUS.
Thanks Jess! ;-)
Thank god the media is really performing their duty of informing the public of the most critical news! (sense the sarcasm) Yet there are millions without health care, an unnecessary war, education funds dropping dramatically, people losing their civil liberties....but no. Wiener poopie. That makes the 6' oclock news.
"Do you teach?"
"Yeah, I teach. Computer aged philosophy. But my students would rather watch TV."
"America. America!"

Democracy.
I thought I would get a head-start on my day by going out and voting at my local town hall. However, I was greeted by this lovely posting on the Albany County - Board of Elections website:

Isn't that weird? Comment on this entry if you know what your county's voting hours are. I found this to be quite odd since the majority of voters are senior citizens (or those in the "elderly community"). Don't they wake up at 4am and hit the hay around 1pm?!
Nevertheless, MAKE SURE TO VOTE! :-)

Convince Me!
Hey Guys. I know that I suck and I haven't posted much...but that's because I don't really have much to talk about anymore. Also, I have been working on a video blog--but they take soooooooooooooo long to edit. Some of my video's haven't even received over 100 views, so I'm not sure if it's worth me taking the 30+ hours it takes me to finalize one.
If you really want to see a video. Let me know! Comment on here and vote on the right!
